Well I guess their official winter break time is over.  Today the LHC in CERN fired up again and began injecting protons.

According to CERN:

On 21 April beams circulated in the Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS) for the first time this year. All four elements of CERN’s accelerator chain – Linear Accelerator 2 (Linac2), the Proton Synchrotron Booster (PSB), the Proton Synchrotron (PS) and the Super Proton Synchrotron – are now in operation.

The LHC officially began powering up again after a L O N G  winter break, in early April 2017.

I grabbed some screen shots from the “live” vistars feed, and from the back door live feed …. and low and behold!  Yet again, they do NOT match up!!  So apparently we’re in for a repeat of the past few years, where some “live feeds” show one thing, and other “live feeds” show something else.

Time to really keep an eye on CERN again, as history has shown over the past few years, that they always have very interesting things to announce when the beams first begin firing off.  Let’s see if they encounter any terrorist Weasels this season, trying to blow up the LMH, lol.

Edited at 1029 04/29/17 to add:  The Beams have changed from when I first started taking screen shots.  The 6 hr back door feed is showing the beams off the charts- over 7 TeV. (screen shot in the gallery below)
